Olga meets her sponsors!

Olga, 9yrs old was thrilled today to meet her sponsors, Marta, her daughter, Ana, son, Isaac, friends Audrey and Emilia.

Olga comes from a little village about an hour by bus from Panajachel. After school most days she accompanies her father to Panajachel. Her father is blind and Olga guides him through the streets as he begs for a little money to support his family.

Olga loves going to school and her favorite subject is math. She was very happy to receive wonderful gifts from her sponsors, blankets, pillows, school supplies, toothpaste, shampoo, soap and toys. Olga's sponsors will be visiting her home on Friday and hope to be able to build a door for the house that she lives in. Olga has no windows and no door on her house.

Olga lives by candlelight , they sleep on bare boards, two sleeping to a bed. Olga is a very shy girl who speaks very little Spanish. She speaks Kakchiquel. She told her sponsor that she eats eggs for breakfast when they have them, she eats rice, beans and wild herbs that they collect for lunch but for dinner they usually do not eat anything as they don't have enough food to eat three times a day.

If you would like to make a difference in a child's life ...consider sponsoring a child to go to school....please go to this link.
