Ernesto.

Ernesto is the father of two little girls. He was paralysed in a car accident about 4 - 5 years ago.
He was riding in the back of the pick up when it turned over.
When we first met Ernesto he was in terrible shape. He had bed sores so badly that the doctor did not think he would survive.
He was living in a small mud brick hut with only his wife and mother to care for him. They had no medical experience and no medications to help him. He was lying on a bed of wooden planks.
He was shaking from the infection.
We helped Ernesto with medical care. Several medical groups have visted him and he has been very lucky to find a very caring sponsor who has helped him and his family enormously.
From donations that we received we have been able to buy a piece of land for Ernesto, build a house for him and his family to live in, sponsor the children to go to school, help the family with food and give Ernesto on going medical care.

If it was not for the kindness of the supporters of Mayan Families , I really don't think Ernesto would be alive today.

Whenever he is ill, he calls us and we arrange for him to be picked up and transported to the doctors office. This week he had a lot of ulcers in his mouth, he was unable to eat. He had problems with his stomach.
We gave him the medications that he needed and we also gave him food to take home to his family.
His wife, still only in her mid'20's washes clothes by hand and earns $2 US per day when she can find work. They are often in need of food .
When Ernesto needs medical care, we can't wait. We have to help him immediately.
Donations to the General or the Medical fund make this kind of service available not only to Ernesto but other people who are in drastic situations that just can't wait.
Thank you for helping them.
