We posted about this family a few days ago. The father is very ill with liver problems, the family has a lot of mouths to feed and the family has very little to eat.The father's medication is very expensive and he has been in bed for two months because he could not afford the meds. Thanks to a very kind and very generous supporters, Juan and his family received a large amount of food to keep them going and Juan was moved to tears to receive the medications that he so desperately needs.
On New Years Eve, Juan who was 45yrs old, father of 11 children, passed away.
He died from the results of alcoholism. He stopped drinking 16 years ago.....he had a relapse about a year ago and his body could not recover. He had liver and kidney problems. He needed medication that the family could not afford. When they came to us for help, many of the children were malnourished.
They received help from a very kind family who helped them with medication for Juan and food for the family.
Juan was just here this past week picking up the Tamale Basket for his family and toys for his children. He and his wife were photographed here with 7 of their 11 children. One son is now married with his own family.
He wished me a very Happy Christmas and thanked me once again for making it possible for him to have his medication and food for his family.
Today we bought a coffin for Juan. We went to the home for the viewing. The family thanked us profusely for the help that they had received.
Juan's wife was exhausted and weak. The family is in a very, very difficult situation. They had taken out a loan to build their house before Juan had his relapse. They now owe a large amount of money to the bank and will be in danger of losing their home.
We are hoping that we will be able to find sponsors to send the children to school. Their sponsorship fee is $150 US for most of the children.
If you would like to sponsor one of these children to go to school , please contact us.
If you would like to help this family with a donation so that they can keep their home, or with food, they would be very, very grateful.
