We are safe here in Panajachel.
The sky is definitely reflecting the eruptions, it was very dark this afternoon....and we expect that the ash will make it's way here sooner or later.
It is a long week end in Guatemala for most people ....to celebrate Guatemalan Independence Day!
So it has changed lots of peoples plans....about leaving town and heading to the coast or to Antigua.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people who live on the slopes of the volcano.
They are poor and this will be a huge hardship for them.
A scary situation for all who are affected.
It made us look nervously at the three volcanos surrounding Lake Atitlan and hope they will remain dormant!
