Patricia.

Patricia is a woman that we have been helping for some time now. We first met her a few years ago when she had gangrene in her finger and we took her to have the tip of her finger amputated. She was very malnourished and so were her children.

We found out that she was living in a very abusive situation with her alcoholic husband.

Patricia works washing clothes by hand in private houses and earns approx. $3 US per day when she can get work.

She was the only one working in the family and the amount she was bringing in was not enough.

The situation became very bad and a neighbor encouraged her to go to court, the court ruled that the husband had to leave the house. The house belonged to Patricia. The police were called to remove the husband and her life has been much better since then. She is now trying to make enough money to keep her children fed. This is very difficult on the amount of money she makes. Her little girl is enrolled at the Pana pre-school.
But the family does not have enough to eat, they are eating only beans and tortillas , or sometimes only tortillas with salt.

The mother has also become very ill, all her hair is falling out. She has a lot of pain in her head and stomach. The doctor at the hospital told her she was anemic and that he wanted to do a liver function test but she could not afford the medical treatment.

We are hoping to be able to send Patricia to the clinic to have her receive treatment. If anyone would like to help Patricia receive this medical care, she would be very, very grateful. Her medical costs would be approx. $100 US. Any amount towards helping Patricia would be wonderful, the family is also very much in need of food.
