Visiting one of our students.

This week we visited Mike's house. He is student #494.
Mike's house is not unusual. There are many people living like this.

Mike's mother recently re-married and the new husband does not want any of the children to come and live with them. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon situation.

So the children are living with their grandmother. The mother gives the grandmother money each week to help feed the children but the grandmother still works all week to help support them.
Mike's two younger sisters also live there.
The plastic on the walls is to stop the rain, the dust and the spiders for getting onto their beds when they are sleeping.
