A new classroom for Tierra Linda....

We have been very fortunate to receive a grant to help us extend the pre-school feeding program in Tierra Linda.

Today we opened that class and there were 30 very excited ( and a little apprehensive ) children....not to mention some very concerned mothers......but the children had a great time, they all got new clothes, new shoes, socks, underwear and were very happy to see all the new toys to play with.

The pre-school in Tierra Linda opens at 8.am., the children come in for breakfast, they have a vitamin tablet and then they brush their teeth.
After that it is games and fun, their teacher, Rosa will be giving them a helping hand with coloring and learning songs in Spanish. The children do not speak Spanish, they speak Kakchiquel and the classes will give them a head start when they go to the big school.

Nearly all the children need sponsoring so if you would like to sponsor one of these beautiful children and give them not only a healthier life but a chance at a happier future, please go to our website...www.mayanfamilies.org or write to us at sharon@mayanfamilies.org

Sponsorship for these children is $180 US per year... the pre-school/feeding program is year round so that these children can have the best start for their future.
