Just a few happy faces with new shoes!

These are two very happy little girls who received new shoes!
They need them for the parades that are happening ....for Guatemalan Independence Day and also for the big fair in Panajachel. There are several parades and it is important to the children to have nice shoes. Most of our sponsored children's shoes are in very bad shape by this time of the year. Some of the children only have one pair of shoes and so they get worn out very quickly, with the rain, the mud, the dirt roads and the constant wear, they take a lot of beating.

The shoes we buy are very well made, they are leather and stitched , not glued but even so the hard wear on the shoes really beats them up.
