Bomberos celebrate their anniversary.

The Bomberos, who are the paramedics and first responders here in Panajachel, celebrated their anniversary. It was a very moving and exciting event. They honored several invited guests, Mayan Families being one of them, they presented us with a plaque in the name of one of the founders, Sharon Smart.

They also chose the "Novia de Bomberos" which is the Senorita of the Bomberos who will represent them in many upcoming events in 2010.

There were at least 6 female Bomberos there....and they seemed to have the full respect of their male counterparts.

I loved this little girl who was dressed as a Bombero standing next to her father in the line of honor!
