On July 13th I wrote about Don Serafino who was very ill. He was in the hospital in Solola and the social worker called to ask us if we could help him. She only does this with patients who are in desperate need and have no one else to help them.
He has diabetes and needed urgent medical attention in the city. We raised enough money to get him to the city for this treatment.
We were dismayed when the social worker called and told us that Don Serafino had died on the way in the ambulance. The social worker told us to come and collect the money that we had sent for his treatment.
Being very busy, Rodolfo , a Mayan Families employee did not have time to go until today.
He was quite surprised when he saw Don Serafino sitting up in the bed!!
The social worker realized that it had been another patient that had died on the way.
We are pleased to report that Don Serafino is feeling a lot better and he thanked us very much for arranging his treatment.
He will still need more treatment and help with his medication, if anyone would like to help him, it would be another miracle for Don Serafino!
