Lucy was one of the lucky ones who has received a "Hope Chest" . These Hope Chests are made so that the child will have a combined table, a place to store their possessions, a place to sit and even a place to sleep on top of the chest. Each chest comes with a small mattress.
The chests cost $80 US and are made by Mayan Families staff who have been trained to make these boxes by our wonderful volunteer, Michael.
These boxes not only is a wonderful piece of furniture for a child but they also provide work for boys who otherwise may not have a job.
